🛸 Look Up! Free Drone Show @ Slush Puppie Place

📅 Friday, February 13, 2026 | 6:30 PM | The Tragically Hip Way (Outside Slush Puppie Place)

If you like shiny objects and robots that don’t actually want to take over the world, this is for you. Friday night, the Kingston sky is getting a high-tech makeover. It is a free drone show happening right before the Fronts take on the Rangers.

Whether you have tickets to the game or you are just wandering around downtown looking for some pre-Valentine’s magic, it is worth a look. Think of it like fireworks, but quieter and way more "future-is-here." Just make sure you get there a early to find a good spot on The Tragically Hip Way before the lights start dancing.

💘 Cupids and Candlelight: Valentine's Day Downtown

📅 Saturday, February 14, 2026 | Downtown Kingston

Valentine’s Day is landing on a Saturday this year, which means you have zero excuses for the "I was too tired from work" fallback. Downtown Kingston has basically done all the heavy lifting for you with a guide that covers everything from the classic candlelit dinner to some slightly more creative moves.

If you want to keep it classic, there are plenty of spots for a romantic meal, but if you’re looking to actually move your legs, a moonlit skate at Springer Market Square is always a winner (just try not to fall on your face in front of your date). Or how about a sauna (with or without the cold plunge after). Whether you're hunting for the perfect local gift or just want to find a cozy corner for a drink, the downtown core is the place to be to create a Valentine's memory that sticks—for all the right reasons.

🎨 Glitter, Glue, and Sanity: Family Day Open House at the Tett Centre

📅 Monday, February 16, 2026 | 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM | 370 King St W, Kingston

If your idea of "creative play" usually involves scrubbing mystery marks off the baseboards, the Tett Centre has a much better plan. Their Family Day Open House is the ultimate "yes" zone where the kids can get hands-on with arts, crafts, and music without you worrying about the security deposit.

It is a full day of local artists and organizations showing off what makes Kingston’s creative scene so cool. You can expect live performances, interactive workshops, and enough glitter to be found in your hair for the next three years. It is a great way to tire the kids out in a space that is actually designed for high energy and big imaginations. Just bring your sense of adventure and maybe some wet wipes.

⛸️ Frozen Toes and Sugar Flows: Public Skating at Springer Market Square

📅 Monday, February 16, 2026 | All Day | Springer Market Square, Kingston

There is something about skating at the Market Square that makes you feel like you are living in a Hallmark movie, even if you spend half the time clutching someone else. For Family Day, the rink is the heart of the city action. It is free, it is outdoors, and it is conveniently located right across from BeaverTails.

Whether your family glides like pros or looks more like newborn deer on ice, it is a great way to get some fresh air. The best part? When the kids start complaining about the cold, you are only steps away from a dozen spots to grab a hot chocolate and negotiate how much longer you have to stay outside.

🐦 Chickadees and Chilly Knees: Family Day at Little Cataraqui Creek

📅 Monday, February 16, 2026 | 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM | 1641 Perth Rd, Glenburnie

If the family is starting to get a little "cabin fever," it is time to head just north of the city to Little Cataraqui Creek. This is the place to go if you want to trade the city noise for the sound of chickadees landing on your hand (pro tip: bring birdseed, they aren't there for your personality).

You can spend the day cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or just hiking the trails to see if you can spot any local wildlife. It is a solid way to get some Vitamin D and make sure the kids are sufficiently exhausted by the time you get back to the car.

Note: for renting cross-country skis or snowshoes, you need to reserve them online.

🏠 Dreaming of a New Zip Code? Last Chance for The Kinsmen Dream Home Lottery

📅 Monday, February 16, 2026 | 11:59 PM | Online

If you have been staring at that leaky faucet or the "creative" wallpaper choices of the previous owners for too long, it is time for a change of scenery. The Kinsmen Dream Home Lottery is hitting the final stretch, and Monday night is your last chance to get in on the action.

It is not just about the fancy house with the pristine floors and the smell of "I have my life together." Every ticket goes toward supporting the Kinsmen Club and the massive impact they have on our community. Your contribution helps fund vital work for organizations like BGC South East, Cystic Fibrosis Canada, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society, along with a long list of other local charities that keep Kingston strong.

So, you are basically doing a good deed while simultaneously daydreaming about where you would put your new coffee station. Just make sure you grab your tickets before the clock strikes midnight on Family Day, or you will be back to wondering if that faucet sound is a beat or a repair bill.

🥨 Your friends called, they’re bored (fix that)

Stop them from doom-scrolling their life away. Forward this email and give them something real to do this week.
