šŸŒ¬ļø High Winds Bring Down Wolfe Island Turbine Blade

A 180-foot blade snapped off a wind turbine on Wolfe Island during high winds last Monday. TransAlta has temporarily idled all 86 turbines as a precaution while investigating the cause. While the provincial government is winding down funding for supervised consumption sites by June, Kingston’s Integrated Care Hub (ICH) will remain open. Mayor Bryan Paterson and AMHS-KFLA confirmed that while the consumption site component is transitioning to a treatment-focused "HART hub," the rest of the facility's services—including the rest zone and support centre—stay intact.

šŸ€ Safety First: Kingston Police Report Successful St. Patrick’s Day Weekend

Chief Adam MacIntosh and Kingston Police are calling this year’s St. Patrick’s Day weekend a success. Despite declaring a nuisance party on Aberdeen Street to manage crowd sizes, police reported that most Queen's University students celebrated responsibly, resulting in only five arrests and four provincial offence notices—a positive sign of community cooperation.
